The Marshall Islands Youth Center has been successfully advocating for the youth’s health since its establishment in the 1980’s.
Located next to the Courthouse in Majuro, one can see various children playing basketball behind the center, engaged in conversations, or even working on their community garden.
The program has provided valuable information for the youth, but many young people are still facing some challenges.
Aluka Rakin, the Center’s Director says kids as young as 12 years old are using tobacco and alcohol.
But the Center provides services and programs to the youth to address issues of substance abuse.
The Center, which was established by the late Darlene Keju more than 20 years ago, continues to provide assistance and education to the youth of the Marshall Islands.
