Palau President Tommy Remengesau Jr. has submitted a nominee to head the top position of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Industries and Commerce (MPIIC). Charles Obichang, current Director of the Bureau of Aviation under the MPIIC has been nominated for the ministerial position.
In his letter to the Senate President on April 25, Remengesau highlighted Obichang’s contribution to Palau’s Airport stating, “Obichang’s aviation experience has prepared him very well to undertake the vital duties of the Minister of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Industries and Commerce.”
Obichang is the President’s first nominee for the ministerial position of the MPIIC.
The Senate has yet to vote on the President’s second nominee to the Ministry of Finance, which was submitted last week.
