The Federated States of Micronesia has joined the international community in condemning North Korea’s escalating threats against the United States, it’s territories and allies.
FSM is urging North Korea to cease its nuclear testing program and comply with its international obligations as well as its ballistic missiles activities for peace and stability in the Asia Pacific.
Threats made by North Korea have escalated tensions throughout the Pacific region. In Guam, officials are preparing for possible attacks by encouraging the community to stay informed and prepared as they place the country in yellow condition or medium risk. Palau has also reached out to the U.S. government for an update of their defense plans for the region.
Earlier this week, North Korea pulled more than 50,000 of its workers at its joint industrial zone with South Korea. Foreigners were also encouraged to leave South Korea amid threats of a thermo-nuclear war.
