A Palau public safety officer who was earlier found intoxicated while on duty has been terminated.
Police officer Ephraim Tellames was placed on suspension last month pending the outcome of an investigation by the Bureau of Public Safety after he was found intoxicated while on duty.
A press release from the Attorney General’s office this week declares that the Bureau of Public Safety will not tolerate employees violating the Rules and Regulations including being intoxicated while on duty. Further adding that, “Holding employees accountable for violations as well as recognizing employees for excellent work is a priority for the Bureau.”
Both Attorney General and Acting Director of the Bureau Victoria Roe, and Minster of Justice Antonio Bells finalized the officer’s termination this week.
