On Tuesday February 4, power was temporarily shut down for more than two-hours in Palau to allow generators to cool down.
The action was necessary in order to prevent the generators from overheating, after Surangel and Sons failed to deliver water on time.
The problem began when Surangel and Sons, who was contracted two-months earlier to deliver water to Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC), failed to meets its schedule due to problems with their delivery truck.
More than two-hours later, the country’s power company restored power back, however it is unclear whether the corporation will continue contracting Surangel and Sons to deliver water in light of the current water problem facing the Republic.
