Sitting Delegate of Ngiwal State Masasinge Arurang, buy information pills a member of the House of Delegates of the Ninth Olbiil Era Kelulau on last month pled guilty to one count of violation of ethics and one count of misconduct in public office for the illegal sale of a motor vehicle through the Ngiwal State government during his term as the state’s governor.
Palau’s first Interim Special Prosecutor Robert ‘Charlie’ Lee initially filed this case in 2014, which also happens to be his first case under this capacity.
Delegate Arurang was accused of selling a Nissan Terrano owned by his wife to the state government through a third party. The vehicle was sold for $6,500 with a percentage of the money given to the third party however a large sum was directly given to Arurang.
In exchange for his guilty plea, Associate Justice R. Ashby Pate sentenced Arurang to five years probation. He was ordered to pay $6,500 in restitution and forfeit the vehicle and shall not be employed with the government of Ngiwal for the duration of his probation. In addition, the case could be dismissed including his records from the case expunged if he complies with all the sentence and probation conditions during the 5-year probation period.
In 2013, Governor Ellender Ngirameketii filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s office. The case was later transferred to Robert Lee as the new Interim Special Prosecutor.
This is the first case against an incumbent member of the national legislative body prosecuted by the Interim Special Prosecutor.
