With the arrival of the United States Department of Interior Assistant Secretary for Insular Affairs Tony Babauta to Palau came the announcement that the Department of Interior has awarded $120, 000 worth of grant money to two of Palau’s NGO.
Pacific Endowment for Peace Culture and Environment (“PEACE”), www.peacepacific.org, was the recipient of $20,000 for the continued communications work on how climate change is affecting Palau. This follows on the success of the recently published book “Public Health Impacts of Climate Change in Palau.” Cleared Ground was also funded for their continued work on the removal of explosive ordinances in Peleliu in the amount of $100,000.
