Following the peaceful assembly conducted by Palauan nurses on Friday May 11th, President Johnson Toribiong and members of the OEK met with the nurses to find a solution to their grievances. During the meeting, the group discussed the nurse’s proposal and several other issues. A solution was not reached during this meeting, however President Toribiong agreed to have an answer or a solution for the grievances by May 18th. The nurses felt that it was important to express their thoughts and feelings about these issues that have remained over the years through a peaceful assembly. They also clarified the movement they conducted was not a strike and was not politically motivated. The assembly was held to seek assistance from the Ministry of Health and to better patients care.
