Many people, young and old, volunteered their time and energy on the eve of December 23, 2014 to honor the late DeWill Reklai, and to take an important stand against drunk and drugged in the Republic of Palau.
DeWill’s family, friends and classmates including members of the public gathered together in a short yet powerful event that signifies the harmful and tragic consequences of drunk and drugged driving.
Seven years ago, DeWill, a teenage high school student at the time lost his precious life to a drunk driver. This campaign was born that tragic day to prevent similar incidences from happening.
During this holiday season and the days to come, motorists are encouraged to designate a driver to prevent the loss of life, injury and other dangers associated with drunk and drugged driving.
The use of alcohol is a personal choice, and to choose to designate a driver could mean life and death for the driver and others utilizing Palau’s roads.
