Test results from a Hawaii lab has confirmed that the dead chickens from the Palau Mission Academy (PMA) Poultry Farm are negative for Avian Influenza also known as the bird flu.
Last week, 300 out of 7, 000 chickens from the farm fell ill and died of still unknown causes.
Officials initially tested samples taken from the dead chickens on March 31, 2014 for the virus. Some results where negative while some were inconclusive.
The farm was immediately quarantined following reports of the mass deaths. Farm workers were also tested for any diseases that may be related to the deaths of the chickens, but were cleared.
Although the test results received on April 5th were negative for the bird flu, further testing of the samples will be conducted in the United States to determine the cause of death.
In the meantime, the farm has temporarily stopped supplying products to the public.
The Ministry of Health continues to urge the public to refrain from using and consuming PMA poultry products until the investigation concludes.
