[hdvideo id=585]

Palau President Tommy Remengesau Junior has launched a new initiative to help protect the environment.
This environmental initiative involves high school students who will assist in a massive clean up scheduled for December 6, 2013.
The President envisioned that this initiative will help raise awareness about the vulnerability of the environment, encourage environmental responsibility as well as foster fellowship and instill pride amongst the youth.
The initiative will begin with an event on December 6 where all high school seniors participate in a massive clean up of the island picking up plastic bottles, cans and glass bottles along the compact road and marinas in Babeldaob.
The clean up will begin in Ngarchelong and end in Airai State.
The President hopes this event will inspire the youth to become good environmental stewards.
