High schooler Vaverlyn Dachbar died as a hero this month when she drowned saving her twin siblings.
The sophomore, who attended Thunderbird High School in Phoenix, Arizona, drowned at Lake Pleasant on July 5th saving her little sister and brother.
According to ABC news 15 in Arizona, Dachbar dived in to save her siblings after they waded in too deep and went under water.
Although she was only an average swimmer, she managed to save her siblings, but unfortunately couldn’t save herself.
A man in the area tried to save her, but couldn’t find her in the water.
A dive team from the local county’s sheriff’s office reportedly found her body later in the day.
Dachbar’s older sister told reporters that Dachbar saw the siblings go under, but instead of telling adults she went to save them because that’s what she does.
The family says Dachbar wanted to become a pediatrician one day.
The family is currently raising funds for funeral expenses.
