Two separate hacking incidents in Palau have left one victim in the intensive care unit (ICU) at the Belau National Hospital.
Over the past weekend, a man was rushed to hospital with wounds to the face. He reportedly sustained cuts to his right eye, nose and upper lip.
In a separate, but possibly related case, another male victim was rushed to the hospital on the early morning of July 14 after an unknown suspect attacked him.
The victim reportedly sustained major cuts to his head, ears, right hand and left arm.
According to reports, the victim underwent operation, but still remains under observation at the ICU.
Both incidents happened in Ngerbeched Hamlet of Koror State, but in different areas.
It is believed that the same suspect is responsible for both cases.
The suspect is believed to have used a machete or a butcher knife in the attack.
Both cases are still under investigation.
