One of Palau’s very own has become the latest to achieve a degree in higher education.
Singeru Travis Singeo Junior of Ngaraard State recently received his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Medicine, an achievement that was recognized and congratulated by the House of Delegates.
Singeo, who worked for the Ministry of Health after earning his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology in Boston, Massachusetts left Palau to Japan in 2008 to pursue his Ph.D.
Speaking before the members of the House of Delegates during its July 9, 2013 session, Singeo says his educational journey that began in three classrooms at the Ngkeklau Elementary School in Ngaraard.
He says that although he achievement many through his educational journey, the growing appreciation of Palau’s heritage is the most important.
Through his address, Singeo hopes he conveyed the simple message “that higher learning is an important undertaking.”
A joint resolution commending and congratulating Singeo’s achievement has been introduced in the House of Delegates.
