The Pacific island of Nauru, which was once known as the fattest nation in world no longer holds that title as another country takes its place.
Mexico has now been named as the world’s most obese country.
CBS News reports that Mexico currently holds a 32.8 percent adult obesity rate.
Named the most obese developed nation in the world, Mexico reportedly replaces the United States by one percent.
The U.S. currently holds a 31.8 percent obesity rate.
According to a newly released report by the United Nations, Mexico has overtaken the U.S. despite the government’s efforts to eradicate bad eating habits.
Obesity is global issue and one of the leading causes of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and heart attacks.
