Yapese Students To Demonstrate Robotics Skills – VIDEO

Students from two high schools in Yap are gearing up demonstrate their robotics skills. Robotics teams from Yap Catholic High School and the SDA School will be highlighting their work throughout the school year.
 The event titled “Yapital Robo Day”, an exhibition and competition for student robotics team is the second robotics event of its kind in the region. Students will demonstrate the capabilities of robots built through a series of obstacles.
 Neil Mellen, President of Habele, the organization that donated the initial robotics parts said last year’s even was amazing.“Our worry was that despite the hard work of the students and enthusiasm of their teachers, we wouldn’t be able to raise the money to buy new parts and stage the Robo Day event again.” Fortunately, Yapital, a European based electronic firm offered to help.
The event has been scheduled for May 17 at the Community Center in Colonia.
