The first ever Migrant Resource Center (MRC) has opened in the Pacific to assist migrants in the region.
On March 26, an opening ceremony was held to officially open the doors of the new center that is anticipated to provide services to migrants moving to the U.S. or citizens moving back home.
A joint effort by the Pohnpei State Government and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the center will be providing key services such as awareness of risks of human trafficking.
FSM Vice President Alik Alik in thanking officials during the ceremony said the opening of the new center is another chapter of the FSM-IOM partnership.
