Two major leaks in the main water line in Palau has been detected announced Nicholas Swords of the Palau Water and Sewer Corporation. One was located at the causeway in Meyuns while the other is located at the end of the distribution line in Malakal.
In efforts to isolate the problem, the team tried shutting off the valves to test how it affects water distribution and it was found that when the valves are shut off and isolated, the water pressure to the homes and businesses increases confirming leaks.
With the two major leaks found, the Water and Sewer task force will now pinpoint the exact location of both leaks using specialized equipment. According to Swords, once the leaks are repaired, water pressure should increase in both areas.
