A Senate Joint Resolution, adopted by the House of Delegates, urges the President of the Republic of Palau to establish a task force to review, assess, and conduct a feasibility study on the Palau International Airport as it is potentially close to full capacity. In the resolution it stated that over the years there has been a constant increase in flights to Palau and that the government must look into ways to accommodate the increase or else the Palau International Airport will be unable to handle the number of flights arriving. In addition, a task force might be able to provide resourceful and feasible solutions to rehabilitate the airports that are located in Peleliu and Angaur. After the task force completes its study, they should recommend to the OEK policy whether to expand air services and assist the Palau International Airport in continuing to meet international aviation standards.
